1950 US Census

The US Federal Government has a “72-Year Rule” keeping census records inaccessible to the public until 72 years after the census was enumerated. The 1950 US Census records will be released to the public in April 2022. The US Census Bureau has more information on their website.

Be sure to look for the records at the usual places, including FamilySearch, Ancestry, and National Archives in April of next year! We are anxiously awaiting access to the records where we can look up our ancestors, some of whom may still be with us!
